Personal meetings online
For years, I have considered personal contact as one of the most important aspects of our work.
For this reason I always prefer personal conversations whenever possible. To be able to look at each other and read the faces of, sometimes nervous, expats what their worries or passions are. Online contact was only used to complete standardized forms or to show progress. But when it came to more personal matters, we would rather go the extra mile and meet in person.
Yet, the current situation does not always allow this, sometimes a distance has to be bridged, time must be gained or we simply do not have the luxury of meeting in person. I must honestly say that I was initially quite disappointed to deviate from it. It was a requirement to be able to provide the service we stand for at P&D Expat Care.
Until my first digital viewing! I, as well as the expat’s family, enjoyed this tremendously. In fact, it even offered advantages at some points. Now, not only could the parents watch, but also the son and daughter experienced the anticipation of their possible move. I witnessed a real I-want-the- biggest-room discussion and was able to show live what was going on in the street and in the playground. Of course I would have preferred to walk through the building with the lady in question and drink a cup of coffee afterwards to discuss our findings together.
Our online service is now an indispensable part of our services and we have made it fully P&D proof. This way the personal character of our services remains as in what customers can expect from us. We can sometimes switch faster, talk to several people at the same time and still chat with a (digital) cup of coffee. In any case, our customers are very pleased with this online option. I can’'t wait to personally greet this family as soon as they arrive in the Netherlands!
